Our Youth Mission Statement:
To encourage youth to build a meaningful, life-long relationship with God, and to reach out to others for Jesus Christ.
KINGDOM KIDS
Jesus said "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." (Mark 10:14) Kingdom Kids meets two Thursdays a month after school from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Challenger Elementary School. K-5th graders from area churches gather for a time of snacks, crafts, music, Bible lessons, recreation, meeting friends & FUN!
COOK AND PRAYER GROUP
This group is open to any student in 6th-12th grade. We meet the first Wednesday of each month (as our schedule allows). Youth take turns choosing recipes and bringing the ingredients. The group works together to make the item and while it is baking, cooking, etc. we share prayer concerns. While we eat we share our highs and lows for the week and spend time praying for all the things we talk about. If you are in 6th-12th grade and interested in joining this group or have questions let Tammy know!
CAMPS
Our youth and children participate in a variety of camps throughout the year.
YOUTH ROOM
Tammy is in the Youth Room on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. for 6th-12th graders to hang out with their friends, play games, talk, work on homework, etc...
PUPPET MINISTRY TEAM!
All 4th-8th graders are invited to participate in our puppet ministry which will meet two Mondays a month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Youth Room, along with special practices as needed. We develop puppet characters, learn how to use our voices, create puppets, perform, and more!
YOUTH DRAMA MINISTRY TEAM!
Through skits, pantomime, parables, and sign language we will act out God’s message in a down-to-earth manner. We will also have opportunities to perform in worship. We meet on Wednesdays in the Youth Room. If you are interested in participating in this ministry opportunity please talk to Tammy!
YOUTH DAY
YOUTH DAY takes place one Sunday a month. YOUTH DAY is open to any 6th-12th grader and their friends! After Sunday School and morning worship 6th-12th graders are invited to stay for lunch. We then participate in a service activity and fellowship event. Intermingled throughout the day will be short devotions and Bible lessons. The day will wrap up around 3:00 p.m.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Children learn about Jesus' love as they take part in fun Bible learning they can see, hear, touch, and even taste! Bible Point crafts, team-building games, lively Bible songs, hands-on Bible adventures, and tasty treats are just a few of the activities that help their faith flow into real life. Vacation Bible School is held in the evening during a summer week.
YOUTH MISSION TRIPS
Youth participate in service trips in MN and out of MN. We've traveled to homeless shelters in Minneapolis, Indian Reservations in Wyoming and South Dakota, and an urban environment in Toronto, Canada.
CONFIRMATION CLASSES
Confirmation Classes are designed to help youth profess Jesus Christ as their Savior, put their whole trust in his grace, and promise to serve him as their Lord, in union with the church which Christ has opened to people of all ages, nations, and races.
UMYF
United Methodist Youth Fellowship 6th-12th graders meet to develop and demonstrate their relationship with Jesus through service projects, fellowship activities, and teachings about what it means to follow Christ.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
During the school year, Sunday School is available for all ages, preschool-adult. Sunday School begins at 9:00 a.m.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
Each year the children and youth present a Christmas program during a Sunday morning worship service in December.
EARLY EASTER SERVICE
EASTER BRUNCH
Youth and children are instrumental in the early service at 8:00 a.m. Easter morning. An Easter Brunch fundraiser, sponsored by youth and children's ministry families, follows the early service.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Trips, lock-ins, game nights, ski adventures, day camps, parties, fundraisers, programs, and more take place for all ages too!
SUMMER CAMP
A variety of summer camps are offered for all ages. Camperships are available too!
JUMYS
JUMYS is our annual Methodist junior high youth gathering. JUMYS is held in November at St. Cloud, MN. Junior high youth gather with over 1,000 Minnesota youth for a weekend to praise God through music, workshops, Bible studies, and inspirational speakers.
UMYS
UMYS is our annual Methodist high school youth gathering. UMYS is held in March at St. Cloud, MN. High school youth gather with over 1,000 Minnesota youth for a weekend to praise God through music, workshops, Bible studies, and inspirational speakers.
WINTER RETREAT
A winter weekend at Northern Pines Campground in Park Rapids is held annually for our church and is filled with fellowship, worship, discussion, and play. All ages are invited!
